Last week I was qualified as an expert in Forensic DNA Interpretation in a Louisiana District court. The following video, The Issue #50, addresses why I think this is so important in the criminal justice system, and why I am so excited to make myself available to other attorneys in these very difficult cases.

I look forward to bringing justice and clarity to the courtroom for my clients and the criminal defense attorney community.

Forensic DNA evidence is very powerful and regularly being offered to juries without the proper context and/or clarity. We are here to bridge the gap between the scientific community and the citizens making difficult decisions on serious cases.

What is forensic DNA interpretation in criminal cases?

Forensic DNA interpretation involves analyzing biological evidence from a crime scene to identify or exclude suspects. It bridges complex scientific data and courtroom understanding to ensure accurate use of DNA evidence in legal proceedings.

Why is forensic DNA evidence so important in criminal defense?

DNA evidence is powerful and often seen by juries as absolute proof. However, it requires proper context and expert interpretation to challenge errors, contamination, or wrongful inclusion, protecting innocent clients from unjust convictions.

How can a criminal defense attorney challenge DNA evidence?

Defense attorneys scrutinize DNA collection, lab protocols, and statistical analyses. They may question contamination, chain-of-custody issues, or scientific validity, often using expert witnesses to dispute the prosecution’s DNA claims effectively.

What qualifications does a forensic DNA expert have?

A forensic DNA expert typically holds a degree in biology, chemistry, or forensic science, has specialized DNA analysis training, and is qualified to interpret genetic evidence and testify in court as an expert witness.

How can forensic DNA services by The Ambeau Law Firm help in criminal cases?

The Ambeau Law Firm’s forensic DNA services help criminal cases by reviewing DNA evidence, identifying errors or contamination, challenging prosecution claims, providing expert testimony, and supporting defense strategies. This expertise improves chances of fair trials, helps prove innocence or reduce charges, and ensures DNA evidence is accurately interpreted and presented in court.
